Body Bliss Increases Use of "Supercritical CO2" Extracts

We are pleased to announce that Body Bliss is investing in ‘supercritical CO2 extraction’ (SCO2). Lauded as the ultimate method to create near perfect extracts of the healing and aromatic properties of plants, SCO2 extraction opens up the possibility of extracting difficult-to-capture oils in a way that retains the full spectrum of their chemistry.

The purity and therapeutic potency of SCO2 extracts has led us to use them in our Body Bliss formulations since the creation of our company. The extensive list of SCO2 extracts used in Body Bliss products includes pomegranate (for anti-aging), sea buckthorn berry (natural UV protection), chamomile (anti-inflammatory), soy germ (support of skin metabolism and renewal), frankincense (anti-wrinkle, calming), arnica (healing, anti-inflammatory), rosehip (anti-aging and repairing) and ginger (stimulating, warming).

As a result of Body Bliss founder Nick James’ recent European “Aromatic Odyssey,” Body Bliss will be the first in the US (as far as we are aware) to offer organic SCO2-extracted essential oils of Damask Rose, Lilac Flower and freshly-cut (green) Bulgarian Lavender.

“When I first smelled the SCO2 Bulgarian Lavender extract, it was a revelation. Exactly like reaching down and crushing the flowers of the fresh Lavender from my garden,” Nick tells us. “To smell SCO2-extracted essentials oils is to smell the plant in its original and complete state. Since no heat is employed in their extraction, you are accessing the whole spectrum of the plant’s healing power.”
